DESCRIPTION:Don Rodrigo tiene dos hijas, Silvia y Susana, una legítima, la otra bastarda. Ya viejo y sin heredero, Don Rodrigo decide casar a Silvia con su vecino, un rico noble, con el fin de asegurar y expandir sus dominios. Pero Don Paio, el prometido, es un glotón y empedernido cazador de polleras. La trama del film está basada en dos tradicionales cuentos portugueses: ¿La doncella que va a la guerra¿, de origen ibérico-judío, y la novela ¿La mano del muerto¿, transmitida oralmente a través de las generaciones.\n
